WARD’S Science Behind Ballistics and Firearms Lab Activity |
A Safe and Practical Method of Introducing Ballistic Evidence Into Your Classroom |
Guide your students through basic identification of bullets and shell casings with real evidence samples and accurate re-created examples. Using the included ballistic evidence, plastic bullets, economy trajectory rods and ballistic blocks, you can safely and effectively introduce methods of analyzing ballistic evidence. The Embedded Ballistics version of this activity includes real shell casings and bullets embedded in a clear, hard resin, making them inert and unusable, while still allowing them to be studied in detail. The Flashcard Version of the activity uses flashcard images in place of activity materials for comparison. Students will determine the trajectory of a fired bullet, decipher the caliber of a bullet and shell casing, and learn techniques used to identify and match weapons to bullets and shell casings.
